Dance Dynamics Teachers


Michelle Smyth – Principle

Michelle’s professional training started at Laine Theatre Arts where she took a 3 year diploma course in dance. During the 3year study period she specialized in Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz where she gained advanced ISTD qualifications. Michelle then went on to work as a professional dancer for Carvinal Cruiselines, TV, Tradeshows and cabarets in England and abroad. Whilst doing this she also taught in spare time in London for SuperArts Agency.

Michelle founded Dance Dynamics in 2008. She started dance classes around Kent and now the school has a yearly production at the Hazlitt

Theatre, yearly examinations with the BATD. She also has many   successful Street dance competition troupes that take part in regular competition work.

Michelle has also been teaching for Prima Stage School for 12 years and teaches Modern, Ballet, Jazz. Michelle has also completed IDTA Ballet Graduate Part 1 and Graduate Part 2 Teaching Certificate. She also has her Associate and Membership with The BATD.


Lauren Bowden

Lauren has been teaching at Dance Dynamics since 2011, she teaches Street dance, Musical theatre, Commercial jazz and the Competition class.

Lauren has been dancing since she was 3 years old, performing in pantomimes and shows from a very young age. Once she had left school she went on to do her A levels at Mid Kent College, whilst doing her A levels, she worked for Pretending People in their shows and events. Lauren competed in Street Dance Championships up to the age of 18. Lauren then passed her Teaching Associate (BATD) in Freestyle; qualified to teach Musical Theatre, Jazz, Street dance, Contemporary and Cheerleading for all ages.

Since teaching at Dance Dynamics, she has helped the competition teams compete in Disneyland Paris winning 3rd place in 2015, as well as winning various competitions around the South-east, D-Fuse competition troupe gained a place at the UDO World Championships 2015.


Harry Short

Harry started dancing at the age of 13 with Ashley banjo. At 17 Harry went into teacher training and at 18 he went into a full time training in dance, studying Musical Theatre, Streetdance, Contemporary. Since then Harry has performed in many shows all over the uk and over seas.

He recently has just finished touring with “WICKED PRODUCTIONS”

Harry has been teaching hip hop at Dance Dynamics for three years now and his competition troupes have won at various competitons in and around kent.
